Who I am?
Hello, I’m Javier, a physicist specializing in the statistical physics of collective phenomena. My research focuses on understanding how macroscopic patterns and behaviors emerge from microscopic interactions among many degrees of freedom, a central question in equilibrium and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics.
I study a wide range of systems, magnetic spin models, biological collectives such as ant colonies, and human systems like pedestrian dynamics, all of which, despite their apparent differences, exhibit emergent behavior driven by local interactions and constraints. These systems provide rich ground for the application of tools from statistical mechanics, stochastic processes, and complex systems theory. My approach combines numerical simulations, analytical calculations and simple experiments to bridge microscopic interactions and macroscopic observables.
